Hilary Duff dropped a scorpion down her trousers in her new movie.
The actress had the "scary" encounter with the arachnid while shooting 'War, Inc' after deciding not to use a fake one.

She is quoted as saying: "We did it about four times. They were like, 'We have a fake one here but it looks terrible.' And I was like, 'I've done this for the movie, and this and this and this' - I can't back out now. I've got to go for it. All the guys on set were telling me that they would never do this.

"I had a pair of pants on that was a little bigger than my normal size so I could get some space between my body and the pants and try and drop it in.

"A couple of times it went all the way down to the floor, you know, and then sometimes it got stuck and I had to shake it out which was really scary."
Director Josh Seftel admitted he was "terrified" by the scorpion and praised the 20-year-old 'Lizzie Maguire' star for her bravery.

He said: "It was so brave and bold and smart of her to do that. I loved that she embraced it."

Singer/actress Hilary Duff has no plans to tie the knot anytime soon.

The 20-year-old tells Cosmopolitan in its January issue that she's not yet ready for that walk down the aisle, and that she believes that the reason people get married young, is because they can experience everything early in life.

"I'm definitely not ready to get married. I think a reason that people in this business get married young is that they feel like everything comes to them sooner in life. It's normal to be like, 'Okay, what's next?'" People quoted her, as saying.

She also opens up to the mag about the controversy surrounding Jennifer Love Hewitt's body image, saying she knows what it feels to be scrutinized in a similar manner.

"You lose some happiness when that's all you think about. There definitely was a time, about a year and a half ago, when I was pretty obsessed with my body and my weight, but I'm better not stressing about my body all the time," she said.

She adds: "It's not attractive when girls get super-skinny. Guys don't like it. Girls don't like you as much."

A lot of 25-year-olds still aren't sure what to do with their lives, but the superstars on Forbes' 20 Richest Stars Under 25 are already set for retirement.

A quartet of athletes tops the list, with hoops heavyweight LeBron James landing at No. 1, followed by NFL rookie Reggie Bush, tennis star Maria Sharapova and golf prodigy Michelle Wie.

If actress/singer Hilary Duff contests for the upcoming U.S. Presidential elections, she might be the winner, for she knows how to keep people happy.

When asked what she would do if she was the U.S. President, the 19-year-old insisted on introducing a five-day weekend.
"I would also change the weekends to workdays, and have the whole week as a weekend. "Then I'd be a popular politician wouldn't I?" Contactmusic quoted Duff, as saying.
The 'Material Girls' star was even concerned about the Iraq war issue.
"There are so many issues in America. Our involvement in the Iraq war is the most obvious, and also the way some people are treated," she said

Actress Hilary Duff has admitted that she is really bad behind the wheel.

'The Lizzie MCGuire Movie' star has said that her family and friends are all scared to get into the car when she is driving.
"The other day I heard a scratch as I was pulling my car out. I thought I just ran over some bubble wrap so I kept going. When I got out I saw my mirror was hanging off. Everyone is scared to get in the car with me," Contactmusic quoted her as saying.
"My garage sometimes jumps out at me," she added.

The actress-singer partners with retail chain Michaels for her first design-it-yourself line of clothing.

Hilary Duff is getting into the fashion crafts business. She has teamed up with retailer Michaels for a line of “design it yourself”crafts for her fashion label, Stuff by Hilary Duff.

Duff’s DIY collection has more than 40 fashion products and accessories made to reinvent existing clothing. The accessories include items chosen by Duff, such as chain-link bracelets, military-inspired crests, charms, patches and iron-on transfers.

In a statement, Duff commented, “My new line of DIY fashion crafts at Michaels … allows you to get creative with your style – so you can always wear something new to highlight your individuality.”

Michaels has more than 900 stores across North America, according to the company. The company will hold free demonstrations of Duff’s DIY craft line at all of its stores on August 26 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. local time.

The star’s main fashion line, Stuff by Hilary Duff, can be found at several retail chains, including Kohl’s and JC Penny. She also has a fragrance called With Love…Hilary Duff.

Hilary Duff recently left a young fan in tears after she refused to give her an autograph.

It all began when Duff, her sister Haylie and their parents were enjoying some quiet family time in Texas last week.

The family was dining at the Pier 36 Seafood and Oyster bar and as soon as word got out that Duff was there, two 9-year-old girls arrived carrying posters and T-shirts and hoping for autographs.

As Hilary and her family was leaving the place after dinner she was stopped by the owner who asked her to sign a menu card. While Hilary obliged her, she turned down the 9-year old little girl, leaving her in tears.

"On their way out, the owner asked if Hilary would sign a menu for her daughter and she did," the New York Daily News quoted an insider, as saying.

"[Hilary] said, 'I don't really get to spend a lot of time with my family; sorry' and walked out the door. She made one of the little girls cry," the insider added.

Comrie, who left the Ottawa Senators to sign with New York earlier this month, was born in Edmonton. His father is Bill Comrie, who founded the Brick chain of furniture stores.
Duff was previously involved with Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden.
On Saturday, Duff is set to play Winnipeg followed by stops in Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver and Victoria.

Hilary Duff was shocked to see ex lover Joel Madden hitting the clubs following their break-up--because he had always despised the Hollywood party circuit when they were dating.

The Lizzie McGuire star was stunned by the Good Charlotte rocker's outgoing behavior following their split in November 2006 and was left feeling she "didn't really know" Madden despite their two and a half year romance.

She tells Seventeen magazine, "All of the going out he did after we broke up sort of shocked me. Like, that's just so out of character for him, and when we were together, he hated stuff like that, so I felt like I didn't really know him as well as I thought I did."

But the 19-year-old has not been put off finding love and still remains optimistic.

She adds, "I still want the cookie-cutter American dream--to get married, have kids, and have a house with a picket fence. I still believe that marriage can work."

Duff is currently single while Madden is dating socialite Nicole Richie, and they are reportedly expecting their first child together early next year.

Hilary Duff has admitted that she often considers giving up on her career.

The actress and singer has struggled in recent months with the constant travelling which is necessary for her promotional work. Duff said that she sometimes wonders whether it is worth continuing with her showbiz lifestyle - because she finds the stress involved too much to take.

"I go get stressed out and I do get sad sometimes about the constant work. When I travel a lot usually I'm just so tired that I just want to go to my hotel room and sleep," Hilary told Stella magazine. "After doing that for a couple of months you think, 'Why do I do this? Where's the reward?' "

Duff added that she has become frustrated with casting directors who fail to see her potential as a serious actress.

She said: "They'll meet with me. They'll want to go somewhere and talk, ask questions. Then they'll call and say, 'We really love her, she's great, wow.' But they have no imagination. I know people look at me and think I'm just so mainstream, 'She's just a blonde, young girl.' But I want to be really artistic."

Actress Hilary Duff blames her recent low body weight on succumbing to Hollywood pressure to be stick thin. The 19-year-old star only changed her dietary intake after older sister Haylie took her aside and pointed out how noticeable her weight loss had become. Duff tells the upcoming issue of U.S. magazine Shape, "I definitely felt the pressure to lose weight. "I wasn't starving myself, but I wasn't eating a balanced diet, and I did get too thin."

Hollywood actor John Cusack has leaped to the defence of Hilary Duff, insisting her transition from pop singer to movie star is a huge success.

The pair appear together in upcoming movie War, Inc, but Cusack is exasperated by press scepticism about his co-star's acting abilities.

He tells MTV, "The part was... she played a pop idol from central Asia. So, she was like a Hilary - but not Hilary, because Hilary is so classy - but like a real, and I won't name names, but a real slutty pop star.

"Hilary is the opposite of that, of course. I think for her to play that, or to parody that, was really great.

"I think probably people wouldn't know how talented she is. I mean, she's a great actress. I just spent the entire fall with her and she was a revelation every day. I don't think people know that yet, but they're gonna."

The State Fair has announced another Grandstand Act for the 2007 New York State Fair, which begins in late August.

Hilary Duff, the former “Lizzie McGuire” star turned musician will perform Wednesday, August 29th. Tickets for the performance will go on sale Saturday. June 23 at 10am, and cost between $47 and $52.

One show still needs to be finalized. The fair expects to announce the Grandstand act for Saturday, August 25th soon.

Hilary Duff is heading back to school. The singer/actress will pay a visit to Normandie Elementary School in Los Angeles on June 14 to celebrate the success of USA Harvest's "Blessings in a Backpack" program, which she financed. By the end of the month, the 12-week program will have provided more than 72,000 meals to the roughly 1,000 students who attend the school.
